Hit Point Press has launched their Kickstarter for "Fetch My Blade: A Solo Journaling Roleplaying Game" and we were thrilled to be a part of the process.

Picture it: Jason, our Founder, has been a fan of Hit Point Press since he first backed their "Humblewood" Kickstarter. Ricardo, Hit Point Press' Founder, found Pawlymorph at Pax Unplugged a few years ago and stocked up on our toys. Then the mutual appreciation hit a new level when Hit Point Press started working on Fetch My Blade, and connected with us on making a blade worthy of the adventure.

When the opportunity came up to work together, it felt like a natural fit! I can't wait to work with them again. -Jason, Pawlymorph

There was some deliberation over the style, we wanted this sword to be different from any of the styles we already carry. Ultimately with the starting point in the game being in a samurai showdown, we veered away from the "classic adventurer sword" and into the katana style. In keeping with deviating from our other swords, we went with a different material set and design to keep this blade unique.

Manufacturing can be tricky, but when you've got a great partner that has gone through the ringer before with prototyping, it's that much easier. - Ricardo, Hit Point Press

From the "teeth" on the blade edge, to the realism in the tsuba and handle, prototyping went through several iterations to make the best sword design we've made yet. While this sword may be more tanto in size, we know seeing your pet play with it will feel epic. Working with the Hit Point Press team and Ricardo was such an incredible experience; getting to combine their work and ours feels like the beginning of a new adventure, for us and for you.

Check out the "Fetch My Blade: A Solo Journaling Roleplaying Game" Kickstarter now; backing ends October 15, 2026! You can check out more from Hit Point Press on their website or their Instagram.
